Southrop Village Fete 2010

12 June 2010 - 1:00pm

Southrop Village Fête takes place on Saturday 12th June and this years’ event has a “country” theme.

There’ll be a host of related activities including falconry and dressage displays, pony and trap rides, beagles, vintage tractors, woodlice racing and the regular array of stalls and attractions (splat the rat, coconut shy, tombola, hook the duck, children’s playground, teas and cakes, strawberries and ice creams, a hog roast, Pimms tent and the locally renowned duck race).

Southrop’s is a quintessential village fête and one of the most impressive in the area (it raised more than £10,000 pounds last year). It’s staged within the grounds of the Manor, in the heart of the village and is a great day out for the whole family. There’s also the chance to win some fabulous prizes in the Grand Prize Draw, which in previous years have included an autographed football by David Beckham and one of 10 places on an RAF refuelling flight over the North Sea.

All proceeds from the event go towards Southrop Village Hall and School, and St. Peter’s Church, so you’ll also be supporting three very worthy local causes.  The event takes place on Saturday 12th June at the Manor in Southrop.  Gates open at 1pm.  Admission is £1 for adults and 50p for children.
